Shooter TutorAfter blowing a 2 goal lead twice in the same game to give up a point to the Sled Dogs, I am the first one to admit that the shooter tutor pictured here is a better goalie than I am…

In other inexplicable news, we are evidently still in second place in our division, but also very close to the bubble, as the top four teams get in, and 5th place is only two points out from us at this point. So I leave you with the great Jim Mora. I believe based on his comments that he must have been sitting in the stands on Monday.

Goalie head kickFor the second week in a row now, this author has given up four goals in the third period. At least this week we managed to have a seven goal lead coming out of the second, so we did eventually pull off a win. It was an 8-4 win against the Badenovs, the first place team in the division, so I guess I shouldn’t be too bitter. I am however, tired of the collapsing late in the game.

Some might argue that the breakaways in the third might have been a little more common than usual. I might be one of those people. Some might also argue that it could have been worse, had I not, at least for this last game, started coming out to tackle some guys before getting schooled. Ken called it “aggressive.” That’s a good word for it. I call it “having a headache driving home.”

Ellen HoogMaybe next week we’ll decide to play for more than 30 minutes…

In other news, while writing this article, I googled the terms “hockey collapse” to try and find some appropriate graphics to stuff in the post and found this image of smokin’ hot Dutch field hockey player Ellen Hoog. So I figured I’d stuff her in the post too. Enjoy.

Ron HextallIn our first comeback win of the season, the Steamers beat the second place Brewers on Monday night. Even after yours truly gave up a goal from outside the blue line. Sort of reminded me of Ron Hextall. In contrast, on the “played well” side of the ice, the captain had five points.

In other news, a few more games have been added to the schedule, so get your tickets now.

Put your clothes back on folks – the streak is over.

After playing a stellar first two periods, I completely fell apart and let in an s-load of goals in the third and we ended up losing 6-2. I want to forget this one.
