According to our esteemed Captain, with our 4-2 win over the Turtles on Monday, we sewed up the tie breaker and made the playoffs. Guys named Steve never botch the math, so I am assuming this is a lock.
Monday night is the final game of the summer regular season. It’s early (8:20) and there will be grilled meats in the parking lot after, so come on out and wear your pink hats for big happy fan fun time.
After blowing a 2 goal lead twice in the same game to give up a point to the Sled Dogs, I am the first one to admit that the shooter tutor pictured here is a better goalie than I am…
In other inexplicable news, we are evidently still in second place in our division, but also very close to the bubble, as the top four teams get in, and 5th place is only two points out from us at this point. So I leave you with the great Jim Mora. I believe based on his comments that he must have been sitting in the stands on Monday.
The Steamers pulled off a 6-2 win against the Bay State Beavers. In honor of beating up on Beavers, I give you Stacey. Stacey (pictured here) is happy the Steamers finally won a game in front of their old fat goalie. It’s about time.
The Steamers started the Summer 2009 season last night by skating to a comeback tie against the Sled Dogs (who used to be the Rampage, but evidently decided to rename themselves.) Stats are up, so check them out.
The first four games of the Steamers Summer 2009 season have been scheduled. Games begin on the first Monday in May. We get a bye for Memorial Day. Get your tickets now. Schedule page has all the details.
When hockey players lose two straight playoff games and are ousted into an early offseason break, they go play golf. And so, to ease the pain, I give you Natalie Gulbis.
… and Lindsay Lohan will be there. I guess she is excited about seeing our rematch against the first place Badenovs. It should be quite an adventure. Russ is a healthy scratch (or unhealthy depending on how much Mexican water he’s consumed by now), but everybody else should be there.
In less exciting news, there are a bunch of new stats posted on the site, so take a look around and see if you can figure out who’s getting cut next season (cough… goalie… cough…)
We guaranteed ourselves at least a .500 record for the regular season by beating the Mounties 4-2 last Monday night, which was our second 4-2 victory in a row. This also put us in to third place in the division heading into the final two games against the top seeded teams.
The Steamers managed to lock up at least fourth place in their division, along with a playoff spot, by beating the Rampage 4-2 last Monday. And for once, I didn’t give up any goals in the third period. Really, what else could you ask for? Since the answer to that question is obvious, I posted another picture of Hayden Panettiere hugging the Stanley Cup. I heard she will hug me too if we win a few playoff games.
